SARAJEVO, January 20 (FENA) - The BiH Air Navigation Service Agency (BHANSA) has been successfully operating air traffic for over a month and a half since taking control of the entire BiH airspace.
BHANSA Director Davorin Primorac said in an interview for 'Dnevni Avaz' that after the takeover of the control on December 5, 2019, they did not introduce any restrictions or cause a second delay for airlines.
“We have had capacities in every sense. Our controllers, systems, equipment were at an adequate level and we proved that we had justifiably emerged as an equal provider of air navigation services in Europe. We have the ability to fulfill all the requirements that are put before us,” said Primorac.
He added that they currently control 700 flights daily, while at the same time last year that number was 80.
“According to our plans, the volume of work will increase. The peak will be in the summer or late summer, when we will need to control 1,400 to 1,500 flights a day,” said Primorac.
It is a very important fact that BiH as a country has fulfilled all the requirements set by the European Commission for all EU members.
“We are in compliance with all these requirements, the same as Germany or Austria. When it comes to BHANSA and civilian air traffic, we are already part of Europe in that sense,” said Primorac.
He stressed that as the volume of work increased, BHANSA's revenues and costs also increased.
“Our revenues will increase 34 percent annually, which is 12 or 13 million KM. This money will be spent for further education of our staff, for salaries, for capital investments, operating expenses,” emphasized Primorac.
