BANJA LUKA, January 2 (FENA) – As of January 1, 2020, the Indirect Taxation Authority (ITA) of BiH has introduced increased prices of certain cigarettes in the range of 0.10 to 0.30 KM per pack of cigarettes.

They remind that the ITA Board of Directors issued a Decision on the establishment of special and minimal excise tax on cigarettes and the amount of excise tax on smoking tobacco for 2020 which defines that, as from January 1, 2020, cigarettes and smoking tobacco would fall under a proportional excise tax at the rate of 42 percent of the retail price of cigarettes and specific excise in the amount of 82.50 KM for 1.000 pieces, or 1.65 KM for the package of 20 pieces.

“If the total excise tax on cigarettes (proportional + special), calculated at the above rates, is lower than the minimum excise, then a minimum excise tax of 3.04 KM is added per pack of cigarettes,” explained the ITA BiH.
