SARAJEVO, June 25 (FENA) - The General Secretary of the Regional Cooperation Council RCC Majlinda Bregu said that the visit of Kosovo president Hashim Thaci is what the regional cooperation should stand for.
Namely, the Kosovo president should come to BiH at the invite of the Presidency of BiH in order to attend the South-East European Cooperation Process (SEECP) whihc will be held in Sarajevo on July 8 and 9.
In a statement for FENA, Bregu says that although divisions exist, "we know that those are serious, but in the region the consciousness that together we stand, divided we fall should prevail."
"Following successfully brokered Priština – Belgrade Agreement (so called Brussels Agreement) and internal political agreement among SEE participants, Kosovo has been admitted at the SEECP Summit in Bucharest, on June 2014, as participant of the SEECP, and is a participant of the RCC Board since 2013," said the statement.
Ever since, she says, those official admissions, representatives of Kosovo have been fully participating at the Annual meeting and SEECP ministerial, prime ministerial and presidential meetings. In all these meetings Kosovo has been invited and participated on equal terms with other participants.
"Having said this, it means a lot for regional cooperation that BiH Chairmanship in Office is keeping the continuity and all- inclusiveness of the process by inviting high officials from Kosovo* to participate at the forthcoming SEECP Summit.
The upcoming SEECP meeting is not happening just for the sake of region’s politicians gathering at yet another meeting but to reflect on cooperation possibilities, needs and opportunities for closer cooperation as this is what we all need and citizens are looking for," Bregu told FENA.
