SARAJEVO, June 10 (FENA) - Since the Office of the High Representative (OHR) and the international community to this day have not taken any kind of concrete measures to prevent the introduction of a reserve police force in Republika Srpska, the FBiH Ministry of Interior has taken measures and activities to restore the level of security and maintain the balance of police forces among the entities.
As a direct response to the introduction of a reserve force in RS, a draft law on amendments to the Law on Internal Affairs of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina has been drafted, and the changes imply the establishment of a reserve police force of up to 50 percent of capacity of the total number of police officers within the FBiH Police Administration.
Also, the procedure for amending the Rulebook on the Internal Organization of the FBiH MoI has been initiated, which would open the possibility of recruitment of new police officers as cadets, which entails the employment of 110 new police officers, 55 of them in the Special Police Unit and the remaining 55 in the Unit for Support of the Sector of uniformed police of the FBiH Police Administration.
