BANJA LUKA, May 16 (FENA) - Chairman of the Presidency of Bosnia and Herzegovina Milorad Dodik has called on the NATO to draft a sort of a plan, as he said, “of some kind of future cooperation within the framework of the Partnership for Peace Program, and to define specific tasks for this year.”
Dodik added that, “cooperation with NATO, such as the one between Serbia and NATO does not mean membership, and it would be possible for us to cooperate with other military alliances.”
“If we are to send any kind of document to NATO, it must contain a sentence that it is not a membership decision, nor does it imply future membership, nor does it imply acceptance of the MAP, so as to avoid any potential speculation, and this is what we talked about with some of the representatives from the US administration,” Dodik said in a statement to journalists in Banja Luka and added that “the MAP is not a condition for forming the government at the state level, which was confirmed by European officials.”
Referring to his recent statements on the BiH Armed Forces, he said that “the Defense Law stipulates that the Third Infantry Regiment (RS) of the Armed Forces has inherited the tradition of the former RS Army and that they could wear regimental uniforms.”
“We would like it to be red and blue... Nobody said that this means war. It is about the ceremony of marking the RS Army Day,” said Dodik , adding that he did not say anything about abolishing the BiH Armed Forces.
He rejected the possibility that the High Representative in BiH, Valentin Inzko, uses the Bonn powers, and said that “he does not have the powers to dismiss anyone from their duty.”
He called for everyone to do everything possible for BiH to get the opinion from the European Commission on the candidate status.
