SARAJEVO, February 26 (FENA) - The Embassy of the State of Kuwait in BiH and Ambassador Abdulaziz Alsharrah organized a reception in Sarajevo this evening on the occasion of marking the 58th Statehood Day and the 28th anniversary of the Day of the Liberation of the State of Kuwait.

Ambassador Alsharrah, speaking to the guests, said that these two dates are very significant for his country and this is largely due to the people who gave their lives for the State of Kuwait.

He added that since gaining independence, the attention of the State of Kuwait has been focused on democracy, women's rights, freedom and comprehensive development.

Alsharrah added that today, the State of Kuwait plays an important role in the stabilization of the global economy, and in international issues such as the fight against terrorism, poverty and assistance to vulnerable areas.

He assessed that the relations of the State of Kuwait and Bosnia and Herzegovina have been significantly advanced in all fields, with the mutual desire to improve cooperation and coordination in the field of economy for the sake of mutual interest.

Ambassador of Kuwait said that his country became a non-permanent member of the United Nations Security Council due to the valuable support received from Bosnia and Herzegovina and the governments of many friendly countries.

Ambassador Alsharrah said that Kuwaiti assistance to Bosnia and Herzegovina in 2018 reached 10 million KM, and that the Center for Rehabilitation of Children in Mostar opened in October 2018.
