VIENNA/SARAJEVO, February 21 (FENA) - Minister of Foreign Affairs of Bosnia and Herzegovina Igor Crnadak participated today in Vienna at a meeting of Western Balkan region ministers in charge of European integration and European affairs, hosted by the Federal Minister for the European Union, Art, Culture and Media of the Republic of Austria Gernot Blümel.
Speaking about the current situation in BiH, Crnadak said that he hopes that the implementation of election results at all levels would be completed in the upcoming period.
He underlined that the European path of BiH is supported by everyone in the country, which is also confirmed by the completion of the process of preparing the responses to additional questions from the European Commission Questionnaire at the time of the formation of power and political party negotiations.
In this context, Crnadak expressed hope that BiH would officially receive the status of a candidate for EU membership in 2019, thus directing BiH irreversibly towards the European Union.
Crnadak called on the European Union to be more present in BiH and the region, in order to make the European spirit more present and to make the people of BiH even more convinced of the benefits and positive things that will come from membership in the European Union.
Speaking about the future of the European Union in the light of European elections in May this year, Crnadak emphasized that the idea of a united, economically viable and fair Europe would continue to dominate, and that the new European Commission will have among the priorities the enlargement of the European Union and the continuation of integration of Western Balkans into the European Union, stated the MFA of BiH.
