SARAJEVO, February 20 (FENA) - Delegations of the Party of Democratic Action (SDA) and the Alliance for a Better Future (SBB) of Bosnia and Herzegovina led by leaders Bakir Izetbegović and Fahrudin Radončić discussed today all the important issues, but did not confirm that  they will be coalition partners for forming of the government.

Izetbegović rated this meeting as good and promising, explaining to reporters that SBB's representatives were given a program of work of the SDA for the next four-year period, which the SBB should now review in order to coordinate the next steps.

Radončić says it is crucial to achieve stabilization of political and other circumstances in the country, to accelerate progress towards NATO membership, as well as the European Union, and to ensure acceleration of processes that benefit all citizens.

The two leaders agreed that one of the priorities should be the improvement of the status of Bosniaks and Croats in the entity of Republika Srpska, but they also called important the establishment of a system in which there will be no outvoting on issues that the FBiH Government is considering.

While Izetbegović said that the chances for a coalition are good and that such coalition could be established at all levels, including the cantons, Radončić stressed that the coalition has not been formed but that this option has been merely discussed.

The SBB leader added that, should such a coalition be established, the government should first be formed at FBiH and state level, but that he does not mind that other parties make up the power in several of the cantons, and that diversity should be retained and a chance should be given to the already formed governments.

These two parties, as Radončić argues, have a strategically common Bosniak interest because the Alliance of Independent Social Democrats (SNSD) and the Serb Democratic Party (SDS) will act together at the state level, and the same goes for and the Croat Democratic Union (HDZ) of BiH and HDZ 1990 when it comes to the Council of Ministers of BiH.

“This should have an adequate response from our side in a way that all responsibility at the state level is not placed on one party alone, but to create a Bosniak bloc that will work in the interests of Bosniaks and all other peoples,” said Radončić.

However, Izetbegović reiterated that if a partnership between these two parties is established at FBiH and state levels, such a partnership should be reflected in the cantons as well.

The SDA president announced that in the next ten days, many things will be clearer when it comes to establishing of power and he believes that by March 31, the FBiH and state governments should be formed, which was the same case after the 2014 General Elections.
