Dutch Embassy donates language learning equipment to BiH Armed Forces

SARAJEVO, January 17 (FENA) - The Embassy of the Kingdom of the Netherlands in Bosnia and Herzegovina donated today the English language learning equipment to the Center for Professional Development (CPR) of the Armed Forces of Bosnia and Herzegovina - the Department for Foreign Language Learning.

On this occasion, the handover of valuable equipment was hosted today at the BiH Armed Forces  barracks "Rajlovac" and was attended, among others, by Ambassador of the Kingdom of the Netherlands to Bosnia and Herzegovina, Reinout Vos and the Military Attaché of that country, Colonel Erik van Vuren, as well as Deputy Minister of Defense of BiH for politicies and planning Sead Jusić and Deputy Commander of the BiH AF Operational Command, Brigadier General Tomo Kolenda, and the Head of the CPR Foreign Language Learning Unit, Colonel Kemal Suljević.

Participants of the ceremony were greeted by Ambassador Reinout Vos, pointing out that the future of Bosnia and Herzegovina is within NATO, and that members of the AF BiH have already been engaged under the leadership of that alliance, reminding of their participation in the peace missions in Afghanistan and Mali and the importance of learning foreign languages in that context.

“We know that your country's future is within NATO and you are already working in that environment (within NATO).

An example of this is the engagement of personnel from Bosnia and Herzegovina in Afghanistan and Mali, who have excellent language skills,” said Ambassador Vos, expressing his satisfaction with the opportunity to help improve capacities of AF BiH in this area.

BiH Deputy Minister of Defense Sead Jusić expressed gratitude on the occasion of the mentioned donation, underlining that this act represents another important step of AF BiH in terms of training towards reaching NATO standards.

He pointed to the importance of strengthening of the partnership in the era of globalization, emphasizing the importance of language as a means of communication and media to reach certain technological, but also civilization and democratic standards, as we share and nurture the same values.
