BiH Ombudsman Institution opens six inquiries into the Dragičević case

BANJA LUKA, January 11 (FENA) - Ombudsman for Human Rights of Bosnia and Herzegovina Ljubinko Mitrović confirmed today that this institution has opened six cases in connection with the killing of young man, David Dragičević in Banja Luka, including those related to the arrest and conduct of the police on 25 and 30 December 2018, after a gathering of citizens in the downtown of Banja Luka.

He recalled that on 10 May 2018, the Dragičević case was opened for the first time, and that, not long after that, he initiated a meeting with the father, as well as what information the police requested, as well as the prosecution and other institutions, and stressed that they would continue to monitor the investigation.

When it comes to the events of 25 December 2018, they opened four new inquiries, one on the request of Transparency International BiH, one on the participation of children at the gathering, and on whether the "Pravda za Davida" gatherings had been previously announced, who of the citizens was detained by the police, kept in custody, what was the behavior of the police towards these persons, as well as the information about harassment of journalists.
