Krišto and Zvizdić meet with EP rapporteur Dan Preda

FENA Press release

SARAJEVO, January 10 (FENA) - Members of the Collegium of the House of Representatives of the Parliamentary Assembly of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Chairperson Borjana Krišto and Deputy Chairman Denis Zvizdić, today spoke with the European Parliament's permanent rapporteur for BiH Cristian Dan Preda.

Krišto expressed concern that “problems in the establishment of the Stabilization and Association Parliamentary Committee (POSP) would continue due to the problems with the establishment of power.”

Zvizdić noted that, unfortunately, good results of the executive power of Bosnia and Herzegovina, in particular the Council of Ministers, which in the past four years implemented the majority of goals from the reform agenda, have not been accompanied with parallel results in other branches of power.

He said that the responses to 655 additional questions from the Questionnaire should be completed by the end of January.

Zvizdić added that, given the dynamic of the work of the European Parliament in the next few months and the fact that this is practically an election year for this EU body, there are still realistic prospects that BiH gets a candidate status in May this year.

Dan Preda also stressed the importance of the rapid establishment of POSP and the adoption of rules of procedure for its work, as the cooperation of the Parliamentary Assembly with the European Parliament is a key precondition for faster progress towards the EU.
