Sullivan: The US supports territorial integrity and sovereignty of BiH

SARAJEVO, December 17 (FENA) - Chairman of the Presidency of Bosnia and Herzegovina Milorad Dodik and members of the Presidency members, Željko Komšić and Šefik Džaferović, received today the United States Deputy Secretary of State, John Sullivan.

The officials of the two countries talked about bilateral cooperation between BiH and the United States, the ongoing political and economic situation in BiH, relations in the region, fight against terrorism, the issue of illegal migrations, and the activities under the EU integration process.

The interlocutors agreed that the bilateral relations of Bosnia and Herzegovina and the United States of America are excellent and stable, and it was stressed that the United States remains an important partner of BiH in building peace and prosperity for all nations and citizens of BiH.

The US Deputy Secretary of State John Sullivan thanked members of the BiH Presidency for the reception and once again stressed that the United States supports the territorial integrity and sovereignty of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

He expressed expectation that the formation of power at all levels would come soon, and he supported the continuation of the implementation of reforms on the path to EU and NATO integration in order to maintain stability and peace.

The BiH Presidency Chairman Milorad Dodik and members of the BiH Presidency, Željko Komšić and Šefik Džaferović, informed the US Deputy Secretary of State John Sullivan about the political situation in BiH and the process of constituting power at all levels after the October elections.

Speaking about the process of European integration, they said that the BiH Presidency once again confirmed its commitment to meeting the conditions for acquiring a candidate status for membership in the European Union and for continuing the implementation of reforms in BiH by adopting the Statement on EU Integration at its first regular session.

It was emphasized that the European future of BiH remains unequivocal and that economic reforms, economic growth, employment, and the fight against corruption in all spheres of society should be in the focus of the authorities in BiH in the coming period, stated the BiH Presidency.
