SARAJEVO, December 14 (FENA) - NATO hosted a New Year's reception at the Army Hall last night, where foreign officials stated that BiH leaders need to give a vision for better cooperation, whereas BiH leaders pointed out that BiH needs better equipment on its NATO path so that already well-trained BiH staff would reach maximum in battle readiness.
"Leaders present here, as well as those who are not here, can give a vision for better cooperation, with less walls and more bridges through dialogue and mutual respect. As we approach 2019, there is a lot to think about: new government, NATO foreign ministers met last week and announced they are ready to receive BiH's first State Annual Plan, which will bring BiH another step closer towards membership in NATO," said Commander of NATO Headquarters Sarajevo Brigadier General Marti Bissell on behalf of Admiral Fogg.
She commended the work of members of NATO HQ Sarajevo for being "committed to making BiH a safer country for all its citizens".
Deputy Minister of Defense of BiH Sead Jusić underlined that NATO is a very important security institution in the world.
"Ministry of Defense of BiH has given great contribution in meeting NATO standards through Armed Forces of BiH. Units are trained but our equipment is outdated. That is why at least basic elements in the Modernization Plan should be realized," Jusić told FENA.
President and Vice President of the Federation of BiH Marinko Čavara and Milan Dunović also attended the reception and emphasized that NATO can secure safety to BiH and all its citizens.
