Komšić: I will be president of all citizens of Bosnia and Herzegovina

SARAJEVO, November 20 (FENA) - Newly elected member of the Presidency of Bosnia and Herzegovina from the Croat people, Željko Komšić, after swearing in at his new duty, said that it was a great honor and a great obligation to again represent the interests of the citizens of BiH and the people he represents.

He promised that he would invest all his knowledge and effort into what he promised, not fail the trust citizens have invested in him.

Komšić stated that he will be the president of all citizens of Bosnia and Herzegovina, as well as that he will affirm all the values of a democratic society and civilized countries.

The top of his priorities will b the rule of law, affirmation of constitutionality, legality and justice as a general category, democratic and civilizational achievements.

"Without fighting all forms of discrimination, there will be no freedom, and there can be no freedom as long as there is, even one citizen of BiH, who has been denied the basic human rights and the right to live in a democratic society. Citizens of BiH should know that, as a member of the Presidency of BiH, I will support all forms of equality - national, religious, gender, social; simply said - all equality and equality for all," emphasized Komšić.

After the inauguration, after the inauguration, he emphasized that Bosnia and Herzegovina is a state based on the principles of anti-Fascism, and that the forthcoming period requires that we show and prove to Europe and the world that we are a society that in its essence possesses civilization and European values.

The state of Bosnia and Herzegovina, he added, in the near past, with the power of its citizens overcame all the negative perceptions, and its future is in NATO membership and the European Union, which is at the same time a guarantor of the security and prosperity of the state and citizens.

"I will actively advocate for the changes in the Coordination Mechanism, but also strongly advocate for the implementation of judgments of the European Court of Human Rights and the equal value of the vote of all citizens of BiH, which is not the case now," said Komšić.

At the end of his address, Komšić reminded that today we mark Universal Children's Day because on 20 November 1989, the Convention on the Rights of the Child, was adopted at the UN General Assembly, with Bosnia and Herzegovina as one of the signatory countries. 

"Let our guiding thought be what kind of country we want to leave to them, to our children, to our future. Let's make sure they grow up in a safe environment, without war, illness and poverty," concluded the newly elected Croat member of the BiH Presidency.
