SARAJEVO, August 14 (FENA) - Deputy Ministers of Defense of BiH Boris Jerinić and Sead Jusić, with their associates, met today with the Delegation of the US Senate Armed Services Committee, led by Dustin Walker.
Deputy Minister Jerinić expressed satisfaction with today's meeting, at which he informed the US Senate delegation about the activities and goals of the BiH Ministry of Defense, activities to fulfill the conditions for activating the NATO Membership Action Plan for BiH (MAP), as well as the process of implementation of the Defense Review and the Armed Forces Modernization Plan.
On this occasion he emphasized excellent cooperation with the United States, which gives great support to Bosnia and Herzegovina, as it has been confirmed at the recent meeting of the American-Adriatic Charter in Croatia, attended by US Defense Minister James Mattis.
A member of the US Senate Armed Services Committee Dustin Walker praised the efforts of the BiH Ministry of Defense on the activities and adoption of the Defense Review document, and expressed expectation for the soon activation of the MAP, which would initiate the implementation of this document.
He also praised BiH's contribution to preserving of peace in the world through participation in peacekeeping missions, and stressed that BiH is a stable and prosperous country.
The officials also highlighted the satisfaction with bilateral and defense cooperation between the United States and BiH, as well as the possibilities for its improvement, stated the Ministry of Defense of BiH.
