SARAJEVO, July 26 (FENA) - Representatives of the authorities of Bihać, Ključ, Bosanski Petrovac, Cazin and Bužim arrived today in Sarajevo, where they held a peaceful protest in front of the building of the BiH institutions, pointing to the problems they are facing in the canton due to the migrant crisis.
Bihać Mayor Šuhret Fazlić told reporters that the Canton has been trying for several months to get the attention from the Council of Ministers of BiH and the Ministry of Security in order to solve the problems that citizens in that part of the country face, claiming that this is the last attempt to draw their attention on migrants.
He also believes that the state government is not aware of what is happening in the Una-Sana Canton and how much the migrant crisis in Bihać affects the rest of the canton.
He explained that their request was not the relocation of migrants, since they have been taking care of them for eight months, but the establishment and running of the center for 4,000 to 5,000 migrants that are registered in that area.
“The BiH Ministry of Security does not want to manage those locations, and 30 to 50 new migrants arrive daily. We ask the Ministry to do only what is prescribed by the Law on Asylum,” said Fazlić.
