SARAJEVO, June 25 (FENA) - Minister of Displaced Persons and Refugees of FBiH Edin Ramić condemned fire set in interior of Church of the Nativity of the Theotokos in settlement Čekrekčije in Visoko, calling it an act of cowardice of individuals, and he called competent bodies to locate and sanction the perpetrators as soon as possible.
He said that attack on holy places is the act of the greatest primitivism and an anti-civilization act.
"I call upon the competent bodies to react as soon as possible and give back the sense of security to all Orthodox believers and members of the Serb returnee community, who need support at this moment. This act needs to be condemned and institutions need to establish order. No one can be attacked or intimidated in BiH," emphasized Minister Ramić.
He said he has contacted priest of the church Miljan Radjenović to give his support and learn about situation in Čekrekčije, adding that the Ministry of Displaced Persons and Refugees of FBiH will help restore the damaged facility of the church, the ministry stated.
