SARAJEVO, April 24 (FENA) - The Office of the Presidency member of Bosnia and Herzegovina Dragan Čović congratulated the Republic of Croatia on signing the contract marking the beginning of the construction of the Pelješac Bridge.
Čović's office emphasized that “the Presidency of Bosnia and Herzegovina never adopted a conclusion or any other official document which expresses a united stance of the State of Bosnia and Herzegovina concerning disagreement with the European Union project in the Republic of Croatia regarding the construction of the Peljesac Bridge disputing it in the sense that it jeopardizes the interests of BiH in any way.”
Čović's office issued a statement as a response, as they say, to extremely contradictory and negative reactions of certain officials in Bosnia and Herzegovina to the signing of the agreement for the construction of the Pelješac Bridge and the beginning of construction works.
The BiH Parliamentary Assembly, comprised of the House of Representatives and the House of Peoples, has never asked to suspend activities on the construction of Pelješac Bridge.
Also, the Council of Ministers of BiH has never brought into question the realization of this project, it is said in the statement from Čović's office.
