ZVORNIK, April 11 (FENA) - Several of the parents of Bosniak children in Zvornik, together with their children began hunger strike today, demanding that their human rights be respected and for children to be allowed to study their Bosnian language.

One of the parents, Muharem Sinanović, once again reminded of all unsuccessful attempts to reach an agreement with representatives of the RS Ministry of Education and Culture on this issue.

Sinanović is distraught with feelings of bitterness and disappointment, as he says, because their children are stripped of their human right to go to school and to study in their mother tongue.

They say they will not give up on hunger strike that they started in the building of the Zvornik municipality, until the Bosnian language, and not ‘the language of the Bosniak people’, is introduced in children’s documents and gradebooks.

“We will stay here until we get confirmation that the children will study their Bosnian language” said Sinanović.
