Signing of EU grant agreement on bridge construction on Sava River

SARAJEVO, March 12 (FENA) - Ambassador Lars-Gunnar Wigemark, Head of EU Delegation to BiH and EU Special Representative in BiH will attend a signing ceremony of the grant agreement worth EUR 6.8 million of EU funds on Tuesday, 13 March 2018, in Banja Luka.

The Agreement will be signed between representatives of Bosnia and Herzegovina and the European Investment Bank (EIB).

With this project the European Union will co-finance the construction of the cross-border bridge over the River Sava between Bosnia and Herzegovina and Croatia.

The project is part of a major infrastructure investment in Gradiška including the construction of a border crossing facilities on the Banja Luka – Gradiška section, the construction of the cross-border bridge over the River Sava, as well as motorway connections on the section Banja Luka – Gradiška.

This project is an important step towards closer integration of the whole Western Balkans region in the context of the Connectivity Agenda, and is in line with the new Western Balkans Strategy, stated the EU Delegation to BiH.
