MOSTAR, March 6 (FENA) - President of the Republic of Croatia Kolinda Grabar Kitarović said on Tuesday in Mostar that it was extremely important for Croatia, Bosnia and Herzegovina and Serbia to strengthen mutual security cooperation and more transparent military cooperation, which currently hardly existed.
- It is extremely important that the three countries bilaterally and trilaterally strengthen security cooperation among their intelligence agencies and the police, given the many problems regarding crime, as well as the intensified pressure of illegal migration - the Croatian President told reporters after the trilateral meeting held in Mostar with the Chairman and Members of the BiH Presidency, Dragan Covic, Bakir Izetbegovic and Mladen Ivanic, and President of the Republic of Serbia, Aleksandar Vucic.
Croatian President also underlined that more transparent military cooperation would contribute to the further establishment of trust and cooperation among the three countries, because, according her words, currently military cooperation among Croatia, BiH and Serbia currently hardly exists, except for joint participation in some international military exercises.
- Croatia, Serbia and Bosnia and Herzegovina do not have any special forms of military cooperation. Officers from Bosnia and Herzegovina and Serbia are trained at the Croatian military academy and we will continue this program, but I believe that the area of security is the one in which new security threats are recorded in all of our countries, the area where we should strengthen cooperation among relevant institutions - concluded Croatian President Kolinda Grabar-Kitarovic.
