OSCE and Anti-Corruption Agency launch a new project in BiH

FENA Press release

SARAJEVO, March 6 (FENA) - The OSCE Mission to Bosnia and Herzegovina (BiH) and the Agency for the Prevention of Corruption and the Co-ordination of the Fight against Corruption (APIC), in co-operation with the Embassy of Italy in Sarajevo acting within the framework of Italy’s 2018 OSCE Chairmanship, launched an anti-corruption project on 5 March 2018 in Sarajevo, to be implemented during the first half of 2018.

The main aim of the project, entitled “Creating preconditions for effective co-ordination between legislative and executive anti-corruption bodies and teams in BiH”, is to strengthen co-ordination between legislative and executive officials on all levels and enhance the authorities’ understanding of relevant jurisdictions, responsibilities, and best practices in the fight against corruption.

The project foresees the organization of five regional workshops, exchange of experiences and lessons learned with the Italian National Anti-Corruption Authority, and a state-wide conference on the roles of parliamentary anti-corruption commissions and governments’ anti-corruption bodies in fight against corruption.

The project will be implemented by the OSCE Mission to Bosnia and Herzegovina, in close co-operation with the Agency for the Prevention of Corruption and the Co-ordination of the Fight against Corruption.

It is funded by the Permanent Mission of Italy to the OSCE, stated the OSCR Mission to BiH.
