SARAJEVO, February 27 (FENA) - The project "Quality education in Multiethnic Societies" is a project of the European Union and the Council of Europe launched today in Sarajevo, and will focus on combating discrimination in education.

Deputy Head of the Delegation of the European Union to BiH Khaldoun Sinno at the press conference said that the project was launched at the right time because its initiator, the EU Commissioner for Neighborhood Policy and Enlargement Negotiations Johannes Hahn arrives in BiH tomorrow.

“Hahn comes to BiH with one key message, that there is a future for all countries in the region in the European Union, but that there is still much work to be done,” Sinno said.

The project that was launched today, added Sinno, is small in financial terms, but we expect a lot from it.

Head of the Council of Europe's Office in BiH, Ambassador Drahoslav Štefanek, said that education is one of the most important issues in BiH, in terms of quality, but also with regards to segregation in schools.

“I am glad that we joined other stakeholders who are fighting against the divisions, and are committed to reducing segregation in schools,” said Štefanek, and announced that the Council of Europe's Office in BiH, together with the EU, will is launching a project dedicated to Roma population in BiH.
