SARAJEVO, February 26 (FENA) - The Yunus Emre Institute presented today in Sarajevo a continuation of the Turkish Summer School Project, launched in 2010, intended for young people from all over the world.

The program allows students to learn Turkish language, and they will have the opportunity to use their acquired knowledge in practice and with native speakers while visiting historical and tourist sites in Turkey.

At today's presentation, students and participants of the project "Summer School of Turkish Language 2018" were welcomed by Ambassador of the Republic of Turkey to BiH Haldun Koç, Director of the Yunus Emre Institute Mehmet Akif Yaman and Teaching Coordinator Yunus Cunedoglu.

Ambassador Koç said that language is the most important form of communication and that the political, economic and cultural-historical ties between BiH and Turkey are strong.

Language enables better connectivity; therefore this project will allow young people to get to know more closely the cultures of both BiH and Turkey.

He said that the project of Turkish language learning is being implemented in BiH, but also the studying of the Bosnian language in Turkey, and this makes the ties even stronger.

Ambassador Koç also pointed out that Turkey is investing in a large number of projects in BiH, which increases the number of jobs in BiH, and the learning of the Turkish language is important in that respect as well.

For those who speak the Turkish language, he said, it will be an opportunity to find work in some Turkish institutions such as Ziraat Bank, the Turkish Embassy in BiH or the Yunus Emre Institute.

“The future depends on you. You are the future of these ties and by learning the Turkish language you are strengthening those ties,” said Ambassador Haldun Koç in his address to the students.

Great importance is attached to the activities of language learning, education in general, and the Yunus Emre Institute provides an opportunity for young people to learn the language in a natural environment.

Also, one of the benefits is that young people have the opportunity to get to know the cities of Turkey, their history and culture.

The Turkish language learning program started in 2009 and was implemented in seven cantons in FBiH under the project "I Choose the Turkish Language". By 2017, about 5,000 students went through the program of learning the Turkish language.

The Summer School of Turkish Language, funded by the Yunus Emre Institute, began in 2010 with the participation of 30 young people from eight countries, and in 2017 more than 700 participants from 150 countries of the world registered in the program.

This year, the organizer expects 1,000 participants from 75 countries of the world who will stay in 35 cities in Turkey for a period of four weeks.
