TUZLA, February 23 (FENA) - Head of the OSCE Mission to Bosnia and Herzegovina, Ambassador Bruce G. Berton today visited Tuzla and met with the Mayor Jasmin Imamović.
This was their first meeting, and the two discussed about the presence of the OSCE in this city and the projects implemented there.
Ambassador Berton praised the continued work and dedication of the Mayor of Tuzla, assessing that he has done a good job in terms of inclusion, which is in line with OSCE principles, which, among other things, also implies the safety of citizens.
He expressed satisfaction because, not long ago, a meeting was held in Tuzla to discuss Roma rights and inclusion, and that this is an extremely important issue.
Berton said that in the coming period they will discuss politics at the local level.
Tuzla Mayor Jasmin Imamović pointed out that he discussed various topics with Ambassador Berton, but that the most current topic was yesterday's conference on the inclusion of the Roma population.
They also talked about the Action Plan for solving Roma problems, with an emphasis on education.
“I mentioned the example of collective housing in Tuzla, we do not want ghettoization; we have people of all nations living in a state of social need,” said Imamović.
He expressed satisfaction with the participation of the OSCE in this area and commended the cooperation so far. Imamović added that he expects the OSCE expert teams to help with their advice and expertise.
