BANJA LUKA, February 20 (FENA) - A member of the Presidency of Bosnia and Herzegovina Mladen Ivanić stated that the BiH Presidency did not consider or adopt the International Military Exercises Plan for 2019, so that the NATO exercise at the Manjača training ground in May 2019, cannot be held without the adoption of the plan.

Ivanić wrote this in a letter to the entity president Milorad Dodik as a reaction to his letter yesterday about this military exercise.

He stressed that the Presidency did not receive any official notification from the BiH Ministry of Defense in connection with the said military exercise, “therefore, Dodik dos not have accurate information regarding the alleged presence of his associates at the meeting that Dodik was talking about.”

“In order to avoid any possible ambiguity, in good intention, I would like to give you the information received from the competent authorities of the Ministry of Defense of BiH related to preparations for the M2M event - joint exercise of the AF BiH and the National Guard of Maryland ("Air Ground Integration Exercise 2019".)

The Ministry of Defense of Bosnia and Herzegovina for now held only one preparatory meeting in connection to the mentioned military exercise at which the representatives of the Armed Forces of BiH made certain remarks on the proposal of the content of this military exercise, which include, inter alia, the location for the military exercise, the ammunition, aircraft A10 and other resources. In case you need more detailed information on the remarks made, I am convinced that you can get them from the BiH Ministry of Defense,” said Ivanić in the letter that FENA had the opportunity to come across.

Ivanić, as well as the competent authorities in the BiH Armed Forces, considers the use of ammunition with depleted uranium to be unacceptable.

“I am convinced that no institution of BiH would support it. Also, we will try to get approval from the civilian authorities from the territory that is envisaged for maintaining of this military exercise,” said Ivanić.
