Zvizdić and Al Thani discuss visa regime liberalization for BiH citizens

DOHA/SARAJEVO, February 19 (FENA) - Chairman of the Council of Ministers of Bosnia and Herzegovina Denis Zvizdić, spoke today in Doha with Prime Minister/Minister of Internal Affairs of Qatar, Sheik Abdullah bin Naser bin Khalifa Al Thani on improvement of bilateral relations between the two countries.

The two sides agreed that the relations between the two countries are friendly and without outstanding issues and expressed mutual interest in improving political and economic cooperation.

There also talked about the liberalization of visa regime for citizens of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

Al Thani said the Qatar side has no objection to dismiss visa regime for diplomatic and official passports, as well as for security ministers to meet in the coming period, and to find modalities for facilitating the visa free regime for citizens.

Zvizdić informed Prime Minister Al Thani about the current reform processes in BiH, as well as the EU and NATO aspirations of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

He said that these are compatible processes that lead to fulfillment of the two priorities of BiH - economic prosperity and membership in the European Union.

He added that the Council of Ministers of BiH is committed to engaging all the existing resources in order to accelerate economic development and job creation, especially for the young people.

Chairman of the BiH Council of Ministers stated that BiH is interested and open for cooperation in the fields of energy, tourism, agriculture, wood and metal processing industry, infrastructure construction as well as strengthening cultural ties and cooperation in sports and education.

He welcomed the introduction of a regular air link from Sarajevo to Doha, which will facilitate the arrival of business people and tourists to Bosnia and Herzegovina.

The meeting was attended by the Deputy Chairman and Minister of Foreign Trade and Economic Relations of BiH Mirko Šarović, Minister of Foreign Affairs Igor Crnadak, Minister of Civil Affairs Adil Osmanović, Minister of Communications and Transport Ismir Jusko, Sarajevo Mayor Abdulah Skaka and Ambassador of Bosnia and Herzegovina to theState of Qatar Tarik Sadović.

After the meeting, in the presence of the Prime Ministers, a Memorandum in the Field of Youth Cooperation was signed between the Council of Ministers of BiH and the Government of the State of Qatar, a Memorandum of Understanding between the Council of Ministers of Bosnia and Herzegovina and Government of the State of Qatar on cooperation in the field of health, pharmaceutical production and employment of health workers, as well as a Memorandum of Understanding for Cooperation in the area of ​​education, higher education and scientific research.

The Memorandums were signed by BiH Minister of Civil Affairs, Adil Osmanović, and on behalf of the State of Qatar, Minister of Culture and Sports Salah bin Ghanem Al-Ali, Deputy Chairman and Foreign Minister Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al-Thani and Minister of Education and Higher Education Mohammed bin Abdul Wahid al Hammadi.

At the same time, the delegations of the cities of Sarajevo and Doha signed the Twinning Agreement.

Chairman of the Council of Ministers of BiH Denis Zvizdić leads the delegation of the Council of Ministers of BiH in an official visit to the State of Qatar.

During the delegation’s stay in Doha, Zvizdić will also meet with the heads of the Qatar Investment Agency (QIA), and will attend the Qatar-BiH Business Forum.

Together with the delegation of the BiH Council of Ministers, a delegation of business people from Bosnia and Herzegovina is also visiting Qatar.
