ORASJE, Feb 14 (FENA) - A workshop entitled “Interreg IPA Cooperation Program of Croatia - Bosnia and Herzegovina - Montenegro 2014-2020 " was held on Tuesday in Orasje, which was organized by the Central State Office for Croats outside the Republic of Croatia with the support of the Ministry of Regional Development and EU Funds, the Regional Development Agency and the Government of the Posavina Canton.
According to the public statement issued by the Central State Office for Croats outside the Republic of Croatia, at the one-day workshop the program was presented as well as the results of the first call and the announcement of the second call, and it was explained in detail as to what can be financed.
In addition, the experience of the beneficiaries in the preparation, then writing the project proposal, the experiences in writing the project proposal (what to look for, partner finding and cooperation, budget optimization process, contracting ...) were esented.
On the occasion, Adviser for the issues of Croats in BiH at the Central State Office for Croats outside the Republic of Croatia, Zana Coric, pointed out that there was a space for cross-border cooperation as well as that the potential was enormous.
- The goal of our visit is very concrete and very operational. We are trying to gather and train people who have ideas and propose projects in order to acquire skills and knowledge in making better preparations for EU projects, because large sums are in question. A new call for IPA cross-border cooperation program will start soon, at the beginning of spring, so we have intensified the workshops - Coric noted.
She also reminded of the projects supported by the Government of the Republic of Croatia in BiH, which encourage and strengthen the educational, health, scientific and infrastructural capacities of Croats in BiH.
On the occasion, Prime Minister of the Posavina Canton, Marijan Klaic, thanked the organizer for everything the Central State Office for Croats outside the Republic of Croatia does for Croats in this part of BiH, especially on the engagement in the preparation and organization of such workshops.
Assistant to the Minister of Regional Development and European Union Funds, Kristina Bilic, expressed her satisfaction with the arrival in Orašje and underlined that it was an opportunity to improve cross-border cooperation as well as to support the local and regional self-government units and help them to strengthen their capacities.
- I sincerely hope that, as far as this financial perspective is concerned, we will be able to implement the EUR 57million that we have at our disposal, thereby contributing to the strengthening of social welfare, health care , tourism, environmental protection, energy, as well as to the encouraging entrepreneurship in this region - Bilic said.
The workshop in Orasje is the second in a series of workshops to be held in B H, aimed at, among other things, strengthening capacities of the Croatian people in Bosnia and Herzegovina and encouraging cross-border and regional cooperation with the Republic of Croatia.
The workshop was attended by 50 representatives of state administration bodies, local and regional self-government units and companies owned by them, as well as agencies from the Posavina, Brcko District and Tuzla Cantons.
