MOSTAR, Feb 13 (FENA) - Following the court's decision finding the strike illegal, the doctor of medicine and dentistry of the Herzegovina-Neretva Canton called off the general strike which they started on Monday, told Fena the President of the Trade Union of the Doctors of Medicine and Dentistry of HNC, Kristina Bevanda.
"After we had received the court's decision banning the strike, we consulted our lawyer team and were told that the decision, regardless of the fact that it is illegal in all aspects, must be respected until proven otherwise," Bevanda said.
She noted that the lawyer's team would lodge appeal to the decision of the Mostar Municipal Court, adding that the Union of Doctors of Dentistry and Dentistry will decide on further steps today.
To remind, doctors of medicine and dentistry of the Herzegovina-Neretva Canton entered the general strike on Monday.
They demand from the cantonal Government that a separate collective agreement for doctors of medicine and dentistry be signed, as it has been done in other cantons. They also request increase of the hourly rate from the current KM 2 to KM 2.6 as well as increase of the coefficient by 1.2 for all medical groups – i.e. doctors of medicine, specialists and subspecialists.
