SARAJEVO, February 8 (FENA) - The 11th International Wine and Gastronomy Festival "Sarajevo Wine Fest 2018" was opened this evening at the Sarajevo Holiday Hotel, hosting over 50 local and international exhibitors.
The festival was declared open by the Vice-President of the BiH Foreign Trade Chamber Bruno Bojić, who stressed the importance of promoting the wine industry and the culture of wine, tourism and catering, as well as expanding the gastronomic offer of Bosnia and Herzegovina in the context of development potential and improving the image of our country.
Addressing the participants of the event, Mr. Bojić expressed his satisfaction that BiH and its capital hosted this event, but also reminded of the devastating data that testify that BiH, in addition to the outstanding opportunities for the development of the wine industry, imports several times more wine than it exports.
Mr. Bojić stressed that the wine industry had all the conditions to overcome the current export deficit and to achieve significant placements in third markets, stating that BiH wines are already present and recognizable in the European Union (EU) countries, but also around the world, including the large Chinese market.
