MOSTAR, Feb 7 (FENA) - Prime Minister of the Herzegovina-Neretva Canton (HNC), Nevenko Herceg, Minister of Trade, Tourism and Environmental Protection, Ajdin Teletovic, and Minister of Transport and Communications, Stjepan Krasic, held a meeting on Tuesday with the General Manager of Mostar Airport, Marina Raspudic, and the Head of the Technical and Maintenance Services, Ibrica Berberovic. The current situation and future plans of the Mostar Airport were topics of the meeting.
On the occasion, representatives of the HNC Government expressed readiness to continue supporting the Airport, and will provide for this purpose this year KM 500,000, so that Mostar and the HNC would be as soon as possible connected with destinations in Europe and throughout the world, says the statement issued by the Information Office of the HNC Government.
The participants of the meeting agreed that there would be no stronger development of the economy, especially tourism, without the strengthening and development of the Mostar Airport.
Raspudic and Berberovic thanked the Government for the support, as well as their readiness to continue to support the development of the Mostar Airport, pointing out that in 2017 a record passenger acceptance was recorded, confirming the great interest of tourists and businessmen in this area.
They added that talks with several air carriers were underway, as well as that this year several lines from Mostar toward some European cities would be launched.
They also reminded that significant works had been performed during the 2017 on the expansion of the terminal, which will provide even better conditions for work and better passenger acceptance.
- We are aware of the importance of the Mostar Airport and its role in the development of the economy, especially tourism in our Canton. Therefore, we had no doubt to allocate this year, too, KM 500,000 so that we can achieve our set goal – i.e. to connect Mostar with as many cities as possible - said PM Herceg.
