Culture Days of Iran open in Sarajevo

SARAJEVO, February 6 (FENA) – Culture Days of Iran, which will be held from 5-11 February in Sarajevo and Banja Luka, opened at the City Hall in Sarajevo last night with a concert of traditional Iranian music.

This significant cultural event gathered many citizens, representatives of social, political and cultural life in BiH and diplomatic corps in our country.

Consul for Culture of the Islamic Republic of Iran in BiH Ali Ameri emphasized that the Iranian Cultural Center organized a rich program of Culture Days of Iran this year as well in cooperation with the Ministry of Culture and Sport of FBiH within marking 39th anniversary of victory of the Islamic Revolution.

"We did our best to present the culture and art of the ancient city of Tabriz this year, which is one of the oldest cities of Iran, which has been proclaimed a city of culture and tourism for 2018 due to its cultural and historical markings," he said.

Ambassador of the Islamic Republic of Iran to BiH Mahmoud Heidari emphasized that the ceremony "Culture Days of Iran" is considered a valuable cultural event and that it is being held ahead of the National Day of the Islamic Republic of Iran, which is a reminder of the 39th anniversary of victory of the Islamic Revolution.

"Even though there are many similarities in areas of culture, art, traditions and religious and human values that brought people of Iran and BiH closer together, there is still a long way ahead to reach the desired level of relations between the two countries," said the Ambassador.

He emphasized that relevant institutions of the Islamic Republic of Iran are fully open to cooperate in organizing cultural events of BiH in Tehran and other cities of Iran and added he hopes that such cultural and artistic events will not only contribute to improvement of relations between the two countries in this area but it will also create assumptions to increase political and economic exchange.

Minister of Civil Affairs of BiH Adil Osmanović said he was pleased this ceremony is being held and he welcomed the artists from the historical city of Tabriz who will present the art of Iran to people of BiH.

"There is a great potential for cooperation in different sectors between Tabriz and Sarajevo, especially in area of culture," emphasized Osmanović.
