MOSTAR/ SARAJEVO, February 1 (FENA) – Director of Border Police of BiH, Zoran Galic, and his assistant for organization and operation, Slobodan Krstic, are attending on February 1 and 2 a meeting of chiefs of Border Police held in Trebinje under the auspices of the DCAF Border Security Program .
The aim of the meeting is to evaluate the DCAF's Border Security Program in 2017, with an emphasis on the conducted operations and the 2018 action plan.
The best experiences of border police of the Western Balkans are exchanged at the meeting in Trebinje, including the talks about the latest security developments, says the statement issued by the BiH Border Police.
Along with the presentations of relevant international organizations, participants of the meeting are discussing the current situation in the Balkans, readmission, trafficking and organized crime, and future steps aimed at preventing illegal migration in the Western Balkans.
The topics of the meeting include an integrated approach to border security, digitalization of border police and foreign terrorist fighters.
Besides the hosts from the DCAF and a delegation of the Border Police of BiH, representatives of the police of Albania, Croatia, Macedonia, Moldova, Montenegro, Serbia, Slovenia, Germany and Hungary are attending the meeting in Trebinje, as well as delegations of the EU in BiH, the European Commission, EUROPOL, FRONTEX OHR, IOM, UNODC, ICITAP, OSCE, RACVIAC, ICMPD and others, says the statement.
