SARAJEVO, February 1 (FENA) - Audrey Azoulay, UNESCO Director-General, is the patron of XXXIV Sarajevo Winter Festival 2018.
“I am glad to see that this event is in line with the organization's efforts to promote cultural diversity through art. I am convinced that this will help raise awareness of the importance of the diversity of the cultural heritage and creativity,” Ms. Azoulay said regarding her patronage.
On the occasion of the UNESCO General-Director's patronage, Sarajevo Winter Festival Director Ibrahim Spahić expressed his belief that the 25-year UNESCO patronage over the Sarajevo Winter Festival will contribute to a dignified marking of the 25 years of BiH’s membership in UNESCO.
“Science, education, culture and freedom of creativity and the media are the basis for every society and understanding of cultural diversity and their crucial role in the sustainable development of humanity,” said Mr. Spahić and reminded that this year's festival is devoted to the heritage of Europe and the world and the future of the planet.
