MOSTAR/ BRUSSELS, Jan. 31 (FENA) - Croatian member of the European Parliament, Zeljana Zovko, met in Brussels on Tuesday with Deputy Foreign Minister of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Josip Brkic.
The topics discussed at the meeting were the progress made by Bosnia and Herzegovina in the European integration process, the further steps in the process of BiH’s accession to EU, and the necessary changes of the Electoral Law in Bosnia and Herzegovina, which should provide for a people to choose their representatives, both in the House of Peoples and members of the BiH Presidency, says the statement issued by the European People's Party.
Zovko and Brkic also discussed the EUEnlargement Strategy for the Western Balkans, which will be presented next week at the plenary session in Strasbourg with dates when the countries of the Western Balkans could become full members of the EU.
After the publication of the Enlargement Strategy, the European Commission will made public in April a report on progress made by all candidate countries and potential candidates.
At the end of the meeting, Zovko and Brkic underlined the importance of the Bulgarian Presiding over the EU Council and the priority -not to forget that the Western Balkans need a clear European perspective and association with member states. They also welcomed the Summit between the EU and the Western Balkans countries , which is scheduled to be held in May in Sofia.
