Hadžiabdić: The CEC is waiting for the legislator to solve the problem

SARAJEVO, January 30 (FENA) - President of the Central Election Commission (CEC) of Bosnia and Herzegovina Irena Hadžiabdić said that the CEC is awaiting the intervention of the Parliamentary Assembly of BiH regarding the changes to the BiH Election Law in the context of the implementation of decisions of the Constitutional Court of BiH.

Since May 2018 is getting closer, which is the deadline for announcing this year's October elections in, Hadziabdić responded to journalists’ questions what the CEC plans to do about this situation, saying that the Central Election Commission hopes that the missing provisions will be incorporated in the by the legislator.

If the BiH Parliament does not solve anything until the May deadline for announcing the October elections, and the CEC makes certain provisions and they are confirmed by the court, everything will be fine, otherwise we have a problem, the president concluded, without prejudging the CEC’s decisions.
