FBiH telecoms' trade unions demand urgent signing of collective agreement

FENA Darinka Mitrović

SARAJEVO, January 26 (FENA) – The conclusion of the collective sectoral agreement for the field of telecommunications in the Federation of BiH is the best guarantee of preserving the rights of workers in this sector and a sign that privatization will not be prematurely ventured into, stated the representatives of trade unions at today’s press conference at the BiH Trade Union Hall.

Members of the negotiating team for the telecommunications sector from BH Telecom and HT Mostar trade unions stressed that this collective agreement had not been signed yet although the negotiations on its convergence have begun as early as in September 2016.

“We are asking the FBiH Government to urgently, and within the deadline of 15 days, i.e. before February 10, appoint a different head of the FBiH Government negotiating team to replace Zlatko Hurtić and to schedule the continuation of negotiations for the conclusion of the collective agreement for the telecommunications sector,” said president of the BH Telecom trade union, Fikret Alić.

The BH Telecom Trade Union, he added, has decided that if the FBiH Government does not state anything within the deadline regarding their request, they will initiate a strike in the company, along with protests.
