SARAJEVO, January 24 (FENA) - After yesterday's decision of Social Democratic Party (SDP) BiH to withdraw from further talks on amendments to the election legislation, Office of High Representative (OHR) called all political parties in BiH to focus on solutions for the amendments to the Election Law in spirit of compromise, which would enable unobstructed elections.
"It is of key importance for the competent bodies in BiH to take necessary steps and enable elections and implementation of the election results without any obstructions," OHR told FENA, appealing to competent bodies to abstain from one-sided moves that can endanger the elections and political stability of the country.
They also emphasized that the international community is involved in this process to make communication between political parties easier, which should lead to the election rules to be amended in a way that will secure implementation of elections.
SDP BiH stated in a press released yesterday they decided to withdraw from the dialogue on election legislation because Party of Democratic Action (SDA) and Croatian Democratic Union (HDZ) "are ready to block even the Parliament of the Federation of BiH to prevent any discussion on any law that would secure unobstructed implementation of elections".
