SARAJEVO, January 22 (FENA) - Chairman of the Council of Ministers of Bosnia and Herzegovina Denis Zvizdić met today in Sarajevo with Deputy Mayor of the Chinese city of Tianjin, Zhao Haishan.
Mr. Zvizdić pointed out that the cooperation between BiH and China has recorded strong growth through the project "One Belt - One Road" and that significant projects are already being implemented in these frameworks.
He expressed satisfaction with the fact that this cooperation is being implemented at lower levels, with local administrations, which will certainly contribute to progress in many areas, such as culture, education, tourism, and contribute to the creation of new investment opportunities and infrastructure improvements.
He pointed out that cities in BiH can learn a lot about local development from Tianjin, especially in the areas of tourism and free trade zones, stated the Information Department of the BiH Council of Ministers.
Mr. Zvizdić emphasized BiH's interest in strengthening cooperation in the fields of education and culture through university cooperation, and enhancing cooperation in the field of tourism.
He also added that BiH is particularly interested in the transfer of knowledge and new technologies, as well as for educational projects and projects in the field of culture that would involve more BiH cities.
Deputy Mayor Haishan presented the rich history and development experiences of the city of Tianjin, which is the cultural and economic center of northern China and one of the world's largest ports.
He underlined that the fact that Sarajevo and Tianjin have been twin cities since 1981 represents a good basis for improving cooperation in all areas.
He particularly emphasized the interest in developing cooperation in the fields of culture, sports and education, which opens up space for cooperation in the field of tourism.
Deputy Mayor Haishan presented to Chairman Zvizdić a gift made by the children of Tianjin, with an invitation to visit their city.
