SARAJEVO, January 19 (FENA) - On 17 January 2018, the Court of Bosnia and Herzegovina confirmed the indictment charging the accused Mićo Praštalo with the criminal offense of Crimes against Humanity under Article 172(1)h), as read with Subparagraphs e), a), all as read with Article 180, Paragraphs (1) and (2), and Article 29 of the Criminal Code of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
The Indictment charges the accused that between May and September 1992, within a widespread and systematic attack by the Army of Republika Srpska (VRS), Territorial Defense and police, against the Muslim and Croat civilian population in the territory of Sanski Most and Ključ, during which civilian structures were shelled, population killed, driven from their homes that were looted and set on fire, while the expelled civilian population was taken to points where they were rounded up and separated, and then incarcerated in detention centers in Sanski Most and Ključ, where the detained men were subjected to physical and mental abuse, after which a large number of detainees were transported to the Manjača camp, or expelled to the territory under BiH Army control; knowing of the attack and that his actions constituted part of the attack, as the 6th Battalion Commander, within the VRS 6th Sana Brigade, he took part in the persecution of Muslim and Croat civilians on national ethnic and religious grounds, in the manner that he ordered, carried out, knew of but failed to prevent or punish, murders, detentions and other severe acts of deprivation of liberty in violation of the basic rules of international law, stated the Court of BiH.
