SARAJEVO, January 19 (FENA) - President of Social Democratic Party of BiH Nermin Nikšić met with the British Ambassador to BiH Edward Ferguson and informed him about current political situation in BiH and that SDP BiH is finalizing its Election Program – Plan 10, which should be presented to BiH public soon.
"We started making the draft election program a year ago at public discussions across BiH, and we are the first party that included citizens in making of its election program. We will offer citizens actual solutions, which will lead to higher quality of their life," said Nikšić.
Asked by Ambassador Ferguson about SDP candidates for the BiH Presidency, he said that BiH left needs a new approach.
"New approach of the citizens' bloc, that is, the left in BiH, should be policies based on ZAVNOBiH. Those are policies of unity, antifascism and equality. We want to send a message that we are not only against one, but against three nationalist concepts, and I believe that way we will attract voters who have not been voting for years," said Nikšić.
At the end of the meeting president Nikšić asked Ambassador Ferguson to support adoption of technical amendments to the Election Law of BiH, so that introduction of new voting technologies would reduce multi-decade malpractice during the election process to the minimum.
"Those are essential amendments to the Election Law for us and they are currently the most important ones. When it comes to amendments to the election legislation in FBiH, extraordinary session of the House of Representatives of the FBiH Parliament will be scheduled for January 23 on initiative of deputies of SDP and DF, where our joint bill on election units and number of mandates of FBiH Parliament will be considered. This law contains election solutions based on values of equality, which, at least according to the announcements, is acceptable to most parties in the Parliament of FBiH," said Nikšić, SDP BiH stated in a press release.
