SARAJEVO, January 16 (FENA) - Permanent peace, security, stability and development of the region is a priority for Bosnia and Herzegovina and Slovenia, stated today ministers of defense of BiH and Slovenia Marine Pendeš and Andreja Katič at a meeting held today in Sarajevo.

Pendeš pointed out that the visit of the delegation of the Ministry of Defense of Slovenia, led by Minister Katič, confirmed the friendly relations of the two countries, and specifically referred to the need to activate the BiH Membership Action Plan (MAP) in the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO), which would facilitate the reform of the BiH defense system.

She added that the topic of the meeting was bilateral cooperation and reminded that at the end of last year, an agreement was signed that envisages a significant number of activities in 2018 in the field of education, exchange of experience, modernization, budgeting and all other things that require joint contribution so that peace, stability and safety would be priorities.

Katič pointed out that Slovenia highly reveres the active role of BiH in regional security and defense initiatives, projects and other activities that represent an important contribution to strengthening mutual cooperation, stability and trust in the region.

She added that Slovenia fully supports the stability and development of BiH, as well as the EU and NATO aspirations of the Western Balkan countries.
