Gratz: If HDZBiH is excluded from the government, they will stage a coup

FENA Press release

SARAJEVO, January 15 (FENA) - FBiH lawmaker Dennis Gratz has strongly condemned the attitude of the citizens' association "Croat National Assembly of BiH", which gives the "green light" to the FBiH President Marinko Čavara to dissolve the Parliament of the Federation of BiH.

In addition to Mr. Gratz considering it dangerous for non-institutional bodies to issue orders to the FBiH President, he says this is an introduction to a complete collapse of institutions that could last until the fall of 2020.

"The dissolution of the FBiH Parliament is the first step, and the next big step will be to reject after the elections the voting of delegates in the House of Peoples from the cantons in which the HDZBiH has a majority. The High Representative will not react this time, and then we will find ourselves in the jungle of orders and decrees that no one will obey. Without the delegates of the House of Peoples, there will be no election of the new president and vice-president of the FBiH. In that way the current government will remain in the caretaker mandate until further notice, "said Gratz.

"Without the House of Peoples of the FBiH Parliament, there are no delegates in the House of Peoples at the state level. With this, the HDZBiH shows that they have the mechanisms for completely blocking the system in any scenario that does not involve them in power at the entity and state level. And this has absolutely nothing to do with whether a candidate who does not come from the HDZBiH will take the position of a member of the Presidency from the Croat people, but only serves as an excuse for continuing the radicalization of the HDZ policy," added Mr. Gratz.

"For this reason, it is extremely important that some new policies and opposition to the HDZ win in the cantons with a Croat majority, and that the foundations are created for a healthy dialogue that will protect the interests of all citizens of the FBiH, restore confidence in institutions, and end the destructive policy that serves only to the personal interests of the elite gathered around Dragan Čović," Mr. Gratz concluded.
