SARAJEVO, January 15 (FENA) - There are currently 10,347 registered patients with flu-like illnesses in the Federation of BiH, according to data from the FBiH Public Health Institute.
They told FENA that the seasonal influenza is a viral infectious disease that occurs every year.
“Flu is one of the most important causes of morbidity and mortality from infectious diseases. Every year about ten percent of the European population is infected with the influenza virus. The elderly, children and people with chronic diseases are at greatest risk of serious complications including pneumonia, myocarditis, and encephalitis, which can lead to death,” they said.
