SARAJEVO, January 15 (FENA) - Deputy Speaker of the House of Peoples of the Parliament of the Federation of BiH Jasenko Tufekčić confirmed to FENA that the representatives of the Parliament and the FBiH Government will discuss at today's meeting the issues concerning the operation of the House of Representatives and schedule sessions which will prioritize approving the FBiH budget for this year.
This most important financial act comes into force when approved by both Houses of the FBiH Parliament. Before the New Year’s, due to certain political disagreements, there was a stalemate in the work of the Parliament.
Although the session of the House of Representatives was held, with the budget as one of the items on the agenda, it was terminated without a result, whereas the House of Peoples did not hold a session at all.
The 2018 budget of 2.88 billion KM was proposed on time by the FBiH Government. Nominally, this is the highest amount so far. The members of the Government stress that much more money is provided for capital investments.
In the event that the budget is not adopted, it will be necessary to adopt a decision on the provisional financing of the FBiH, which, according to the Government, is a worse case scenario because it does not allow for any budgetary expenditures other than the basic ones.
