Izetbegović-Cormack: Acceptable solutions needed for amending the Election Law

SARAJEVO, January 10 (FENA) - BiH Presidency Member Bakir Izetbegović met with US Ambassador Maureen Cormack.

The collocutors exchanged views on the current political situation in BiH and agreed that it was necessary to find as soon as possible acceptable solutions for amending the BiH Election Law.

Mr. Izetbegović stressed that the amendments to the electoral legislation must ensure the equality of all peoples, but also of all citizens throughout the territory of BiH, so that everyone could vote and be elected.

They underlined the importance of the rule of law and the need for the judicial system in BiH to be functional, efficient and free from all political influences, which in the future should be one of the priorities.

The meeting was also attended by Deputy Head of the Delegation of the European Union to BiH Khaldoun Sinno, reads the statement from the BiH Presidency.
