MOSTAR, Jan 8 (FENA) - The doctors of the Herzegovina-Neretva Canton (HNC) held a one-hour strike of warning on Monday, and confirmed they would initiate a procedure to enter a general strike on January 23.
The President of the Trade Union of Doctors of Medicine and Dentistry of the Herzegovina-Neretva Canton, Kristina Bevanda, told Fena that so far they had not received any answer from the HNC Government regarding the date of the start of negotiations on the new collective agreement, adding that they would today submit the necessary documentation for a general strike.
To remind, at the Assembly of the Union , which was held on January 3, it was decided to launch the procedure to enter the general strike if the Cantonal Government failed to set the date for the start of negotiations on the new collective agreement within the next five days, starting from January 3.
Last Wednesday, Thursday and Friday, the doctors also held a one-hour strike of warning, which will be held each Monday, until January 23, when a general strike should be staged.
The doctors demand from the Cantonal Government a separate collective agreement, as it has been signed in other cantons, as well as for an hourly rate to be increased from the current KM 2 to KM 2.6 , as well as an increase of the coefficient by 1.2 for all medical groups – i.e. doctors of medicine, specialists and subspecialists.
