SARAJEVO, July 27 (FENA) - ReLOaD2, an initiative funded by the European Union and implemented by the United Nations Development Program (UNDP), announced the first regional public call for civil society organizations (CSOs) to submit project proposals.

The project empowers civil society and young people in the Western Balkans to actively participate in decision-making and foster a stimulating legal and financial environment for civil society.

The regional public call for CSOs is open for project proposals that are aligned with thematic areas: youth volunteering, engagement within and between communities, regional youth cooperation and exchange, and youth mobility.

Project proposals should emphasize community activities, capacity building of young women and men, raising awareness, exchange of experiences, informal education and training through priority areas: cooperation and youth mobility through cultural, sports and recreational activities and events; youth cooperation and community engagement; youth engagement and volunteering actions related to environmental protection and the green agenda, as well as the development of youth skills and economic empowerment of youth.

Key cross-sectoral elements include social cohesion, gender equality, environmental protection and human rights. The call represents an opportunity for CSOs from the Western Balkans, i.e. Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Kosovo, Montenegro, North Macedonia and Serbia, to collaborate and design projects for youth empowerment and the development of their skills, youth engagement and volunteering through the exchange and inter-community engagement in the region of the Western Balkans.

The total budget of the regional public call is 240,000 euros, and each approved project will receive funds ranging from 30,000 to 60,000 euros. CSOs are encouraged to include the principles of diversity and gender equality in their project proposals. Interested CSOs can participate in the call with two project proposals - as the main organization in one and as a partner organization in the other.

The call was opened on July 25 and ends on September 11 this year. CSOs should submit completed applications, together with all necessary documentation, via e-mail to BARegionalPublicCall@undp.onmicrosoft.com.

ReLOaD2 operates in the Western Balkans region, cooperating with 62 partner local self-government units and focusing on the institutionalization of interaction between local authorities and CSOs, UNDP announced.
