POTOČARI, July 11 (FENA) - Director General for Europe in the European Union's External Action Service, Angelina Eichhorst, said in Potočari that today they are here to pay tribute to all the victims on behalf of the European Union, on behalf of the High Representative Josep Borrell and herself.

"What happened here 28 years ago will never and must not be forgotten. We are also here to reiterate the message that something like this must never happen again. By coming to Potočari, we show our understanding, we want to better understand everything that had happened, but above all to repeat our determination that something like this must never happen again," Eichhorst stated.

She added that today the 30 victims of the genocide in Srebrenica will finally find their resting place.

"Those were fathers, brothers, friends. The oldest among them was 65, the youngest was 15 years old. It is important to show them respect. We are here to show our respect and to share with the families and victims all their pain and all the suffering they went through," said Eichhorst.

She emphasized that the European Union stands by the victims always, at all times and absolutely.

"Those who deny genocide, those who glorify war crimes, all those revisionists, it's time for them to show understanding and respect for the victims. I call on them to do it," said Eichhorst.
