SARAJEVO, July 10 (FENA) - The photo exhibition 'Mothers' Dream Peace' by Iranian photographer Mehdi Salehi opened today at the Alija Izetbegović Museum in Sarajevo as part of the commemoration of the 28th anniversary of the genocide in Srebrenica.

The representative of the Alija Izetbegović Museum Šejla Cakić Rizvanović stated that the exhibition was created in cooperation with the Cultural Center of the Embassy of the Islamic Republic of Iran in Bosnia and Herzegovina and that the exhibition also includes photos of the first president of the Presidency of the Republic of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Alija Izetbegović, at the commemorations of Srebrenica genocide in 1998 and 2000.

"We were happy to accept the invitation of the Embassy of Iran to exhibit Mehdi Salehi's photos because we need to nurture the culture of memory, especially the memory of July 11 and the genocide in Srebrenica. Salehi visited BiH and wanted to dedicate his work to the culture of remembrance of the genocide in Srebrenica. We want to continue our mission with this exhibition and to remember all the values that Izetbegović stood for," said Cakić Rizvanović.

Head of the mission of the Iranian Embassy in Bosnia and Herzegovina, Mashaallah Shakeri, said that history is an indicator of the identity and personality of a nation.

"The memory of history is sometimes preserved through books and sometimes through art. Today, art helps us remember. This exhibition is an indication that all people are equal and sends messages of peace and friendship. We hope that peace and harmony will prevail in Bosnia and Herzegovina and the whole world," said Shakeri.

The exhibition will be open until July 16 and can be visited every weekday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. and the entrance is free of charge.
